It is also important that once you've got the best deal with your energy supplier, you keep the heat inside your home, so here are a few tips on how to keep your home warmer for longer.

Don’t block the radiator - try to avoid putting the sofa or any big furniture in front of radiators as it will absorb the heat, preventing it from warming up the rest of the house.

Draught proof your doors - apply draught proofing tape around your doors and any other cracks where the draught might come through.

Insulate your home - insulating your loft and walls is one of the most efficient ways of keeping your home warm, saving energy and the money you spend on it.

Bleed your radiator - your radiators might need bleeding if the air gets trapped inside. This prevents the radiator from circulating hot water in an efficient way, resulting in it taking longer to heat your home. You can find out how to bleed your radiator here
